17th Century Manor House & Gardens

East Sussex

Landscaping & Gardening Project

McN

Set around a beautiful 17th-century manor house, this is a garden with a wonderful sense of history and place. Our involvement began with a shared ambition with the clients to gently restore and enhance the existing gardens — retaining their character while gradually revealing their full potential.

Over the past two years, our gardening and landscaping teams have worked closely together, allowing the garden to evolve through carefully considered, phased improvements. New Yorkstone terraces and pathways sit naturally alongside antique millstones, clipped yew hedges and renewed planting, while a meadow topiary garden and English oak pergola bring new layers of interest to the landscape. A traditional tar and chip driveway provides a fitting approach to the house.

We look forward to continuing the sensitive care and shaping of this very special place for years to come.
